Fairy Tale February is in full swing at the library!
Enter our Fairy Tale Clues Castle competition and be in the running for prizes of book vouchers, movie tickets and coffee and cake vouchers! Come into the library, study the castle, and from the clues hidden there, guess the names of the 25 well known fairy tales! It’s easy, fun, free, and open to participants of all ages!

If you’re not already a member of the library, step into a wonderland of books by joining the library during Fairy Tale February. Our 7,000 member will receive a library goodie bag full of … well … goodies! So come on in, join up, and see if you are the lucky person!

Even if you aren’t the lucky person, you’re lucky because you have joined a great cultural venue. Not only can you borrow books, paperbacks, magazines, DVDs and CDs, talking books and electronic resources, you can also participate in many of the programmes and competitions the library runs, use the computers, and relax in a safe and welcoming space.

Plenty of new books have been added to the library shelves this week, including Lonely Planet’s best of Australia: top sights, authentic experiences’ great if you’re planning a trip to the capital cities and nearby regions, The house of bridges’ by Jane Cockram ‘crackles with tension, hitting all the right notes for readers …’ and Journeys into the wild: the secret life of a cameraman by Gavin Thurston – ‘stories of what it takes to track down and film our planet’s most captivating creatures.’

As well as our Fairy Tale Clues Castle, we are launching the ’20 books for 2020’ reading challenge! The challenge is to read 20 books with such fascinating and diverse categories as ‘A book with a title starting with W’, ‘’A book published in the year you were born’, ‘A book with any part of your name in it’, and “A book recommended to you by a friend’. With 20 such interesting and fun sections you won’t find it difficult to complete the reading challenge!

Just ask at the desk for the entry form on which you detail and rate your selections!
Happy reading!

See you soon at the library!
